Boinca is Developing Therapies to Reverse Skin Aging and Age-Related Skin Diseases

Why does skin wrinkle as we age?

Why are inflammatory skin conditions more common as we get older?

What can we do to stop it

and reverse it?

Everyone's skin is unique,

but we all share physiology.

The mTOR Pathway is shared

by everyone.

The PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway is an important signaling pathway in humans to regulate the cell cycle.

As we age, over-expression of mTOR signaling occurs, preventing the removal of damaged tissue in skin, inducing premature senescence and causing loss of function.

Loss of Function includes: Wrinkles, Age Spots, Thinning Skin, Reduced Protection from UVB Damage and some Inflammatory Skin Diseases

(e.g., Rosacea, Psoriasis, Atopic Dermatitis, etc.)

Young healthy skin has just enough mTOR to maintain homeostasis in the skin, but not too much causing loss of function & skin diseases.
